As a culmination of the Vichitrachitta workshop held for students, an exhibition at Art Houz was organised. Five large granite stone sculptures and twelve small table top soft stone sculptures mounted on wood were on display. These were replicates of bas reliefs found in Mamallapuram promoting the Ajantha tradition of sculpting found in the Pallava World Heritage Site. Twelve, black and white, Mamallapuram themed, mounted photographs, by Mr Ramana Kumar were also on display. The event was a great success. The Chief Guest for the evening was Dr.D Jagannadhan IAS, MD. TN Textbook and Educational Service Corporation, Commissioner of Archaeology (Addl Charge). The special address was given by Art Historian and Art Critic, Dr.Ashrafi Bhagat. She spoke on the - Importance and Significance of Pallava Art and Architecture. The felicitation was by Mr. K. Senthil Kumar, Chairman, Indian Institute of Architects, TN and Puducherri.
