Poonjeri

Members of FoHS team and Mr.K.T. Gandhirajan, Art Historian, made a trip to Mamallapuram with Sun TV crew and visited the Poonjeri site which was in a bad condition with overgrown bushes and threat of new highway encroaching the site. It is an important site as it has inscriptions with names of sculptors who had worked on the Mamallapuram monuments. The TV interview focused on creating awareness of this neglected site, the revival of Pallava Art and infrastructure improvement at Mamallapuram. Fohs' Letter and Documentation sent to ASI,New Delhi - Detailing the Neglect and the upcoming highway closing this important landmark yeilded results.
